Surrender40 began on the eve of Christmas, 2008. No explanation, no real direction at that point, except that Trachena felt led by God to help those on the mean streets of downtown Miami, Florida. Miami by its very nature and reputation is a party town and a very dark, drug infested city! Obedient to His voice, Trachena, along with her husband and co-founder, Pastor Steve, began to organize what is now known as Surrender40 Ministries, Inc. a nonprofit ministry, awarded tax-exempt status under IRS code 501(c)(3) Our immediate, ongoing goal is to meet the urgent needs of the homeless in Miami, offering food and clothing with your donations and/or partnership as a volunteer. We also have a burning passion to minister to inmates in Florida prisons and visit the sick and suffering in local area hospitals. We are not limited to ministry in Florida, as we have traveled as far as Rhode Island to preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
